- The elevator which consumes 75 per cent less power than a conventional elevator is optimised for solar energy use.
- The elevator is ideal for residential and home use and can remain operational during a power outage.
CFAO Technology & Energy, a subsidiary of CFAO Group (Corporation For Africa & Overseas) last week presented a new range of eco-friendly elevators to building construction industry stakeholders in Togo. The elevator dubbed the GeN2 Life Switch, is optimised to run on solar power and is designed for residential use and makes use of backup batteries to remain operational (can perform 100 trips on battery) during a power outage.
The machine is equipped with a ReGen Drive recycling mechanism, and it consumes 75% less energy than a conventional elevator.
According to the head of elevators at CFAO, Gilbert Fiagian, the company believes that with the present energy transition and the adoption of cleaner energy sources like solar it is vital that consumers have options for equipment that meet their ecological needs.
