Chinedu Nwokeoma, a seasoned energy expert with over 14 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, has outlined key solutions to address the sector’s critical challenges. In a recent interview, he emphasized the need to tackle net-zero upstream operations, ageing equipment, skill shortages, price volatility, strict environmental regulations, and negative industry perception.
“As we strive to revive the industry, it’s crucial to focus on technological innovation, strategic planning, and investment in talent development and sustainable practices,” said Chinedu. He is the Business Unit Manager at SPIE OGS, overseeing maintenance contract management in the Oil & Gas sector.
Reflecting on his career journey, Chinedu highlighted his passion for enhancing sustainable global energy provision. He described his approach as grounded in comprehensive management skills, focusing on proactive strategies like predictive maintenance and innovative technologies to optimize asset performance and safety.

He is actively involved in projects such as de-carbonising FPSO infrastructure, monitoring gas flares through key performance indicators (KPIs), and implementing lean and remote maintenance strategies using predictive analytics.
Chinedu added, “I am particularly optimistic about advancements in clean energy generation and de-carbonization technologies, as well as evolving maintenance strategies that enhance equipment performance and reliability.”
