Clean Energy Holding, Others Plan Green Hydrogen Plant Construction

  • Thirty tonnes of liquefied hydrogen are to be produced daily.
  • Operations to commence in 2024

Clean Energy Holding, a renewable energy and technology platform, alongside Equix Inc and others, will work together as partners toward building a 250 MW liquefied green hydrogen plant in Texas.

According to Equix, the project has been tagged Renewable Energy and Technology Alliance. However, the size of the required investment was not made known. The facility for the production is projected to be located at Clear Fork and will produce an average of 30 tonnes of liquefied green hydrogen per day. It is expected to have started commercial productions in the third quarter of 2024.

ING America will advise Clean Energy Holdings, a part of the Dutch banking group ING Groep NV, on the project’s financial terms and provide its service towards funding securitisation. Bair Energy will manage construction activities.

According to the statement, the project partners work with “an experienced commodities group” to market the plant’s output and lead off-take negotiations.

“Our Alliance is leading energy transformation, and we are committed to leading the North American market in the production and implementation of green hydrogen for industrial, chemical, and mobility applications,” said CEH’s CEO, Nicholas Bair.
