Cleantech Solar and Coats Partner for 540 kWp Rooftop Solar Project in Indonesia

  • The solar PV system is expected to generate approximately 16 GWh of clean energy.
  • This partnership is vital in Indonesia’s textile manufacturer’s sustainability efforts.

Cleantech Solar, a leading provider of renewable energy solutions to corporations in Southeast Asia and India, has entered a long-term solar partnership with Coats in Indonesia to develop a 540 kWp rooftop solar PV project at their Pasuruan, East Java facility.

Cleantech Solar will provide the end-to-end solar solution and guarantee the system’s performance.

The solar PV system consists of 990 solar modules and is expected to generate approximately 16 GWh of clean energy during the system’s lifetime, amounting to a reduction of over 13 kilotonnes of CO2 emissions. This project will enable Coats to substitute a part of their power consumption with renewable energy at zero capital investment. This long-term partnership is an important step in the textile manufacturer’s sustainability efforts in Indonesia and aligns with Coats’ goal of ‘pioneering a sustainable future’.

Managing Director at Coats Rejo Indonesia, Mrs Nguyen Phan, said “Transitioning to renewable energy is the core of our sustainability strategy. I am delighted to announce this partnership with Cleantech Solar. We are firmly committed to reducing our environmental footprint and value chain emissions.”

Founder and CEO of Cleantech Solar, Mr. Raju Shukla, said, “This solar PV underscores the commitment of leading corporates towards promoting responsible business practices. By incorporating renewable energy in their manufacturing process, Coats Rejo Indonesia is making significant strides towards its sustainability targets and contributing towards Indonesia’s decarbonising efforts. Our state-of-the-art solar PV solution will provide cost savings on electricity and markedly reduce carbon emissions, thereby contributing towards a cleaner environment. We are elated to partner with Coats Rejo Indonesia and look forward to the successful commissioning of the system.”
