The Energy Commission of the Dominican Republic (CNE) has made an agreement that grants a definitive concession to Energia Renovable BAS SRL, a renewables sponsor, for the construction of the 50 MW/73.2 MWp Washington Capital Solar Park 3.
Energia Renovable is to make an investment of USD 80 million into the project, with construction commencing shortly. This was revealed by the company’s manager Emilio Jose Martinez in a press release. The concession covers a 25-year period according to a document in CNE’s archive.
The site of the solar farm is located in San Antonio de Guerra, San Cristobal province. Energia Renovable BAS is an affiliate of California-based private equity fund Washington Capital Global Finance, which has been present in the Dominican market for over a decade.
