The 110-MW Coastal Solar photovoltaic (PV) project, to be situated in the province of San Pedro de Macoris, has received a final concession from CNE, the Dominican Republic’s national energy authority.
The project sponsor, Coastal Petroleum Dominicana, and the energy commission inked a concession agreement, the commission stated last week. The CNE website states that the concession is given for a 25-year period.
The Coastal Solar project is the 24th final concession permit that the Dominican government granted in only 2022. CNE has approved the addition of a total of more than 645 MW to the national grid in the upcoming months.
