The Osiane exhibition in Brazzaville concluded with Congo Plast’s announcement as the Congo Basin Start-up Challenge winner. Congo Plast and Cabalou emerged victorious, receiving 5 million CFA francs (7,600 euros).
Congo Plast aims to tackle plastic waste in Congolese cities, with Brazzaville alone generating 300 tonnes daily. The company uses advanced technology to recycle plastic waste into valuable materials like stones and tiles.
Congo Plast’s leader, Henri Mercy Diele, emphasises the importance of a circular economy in reducing environmental impact. The recognition at the Osiane trade fair highlights Congo Plast’s commitment to leveraging digital solutions for sustainable development.
