- Phi4tech’s battery cell plant is expected to begin operations this year.
- The plant will have an initial capacity of 300MWh.
Phi4tech is set to commence operations at its battery cell pilot plant, which is currently under construction. The factory is being constructed in the Noblejas municipality, in the province of Toledo, in Spain.
The plant is set to start battery cell production with an initial capacity of 300MWh, by the end of the year. The company plans to scale the plant’s capacity to 2GWh in 2023, 10GWh in 2025, and finally 20 GWh in 2027.
Phi4tec will produce the cathodes to be utilised in the battery cells at another manufacturing facility currently under development in Cáceres, located in Extremadura.
Phi4tec estimates that both factories will require a total investment of around €1 billion and will create over 1,600 direct jobs.
