DEER Nigeria, Milsat Deploy Smart Power Tracking System

DEER Nigeria has announced its official partnership with Milsat Technologies Limited, a leading Geographical Information Systems (GIS) company, to deploy Electra. This innovative technology tracks electricity uptime and downtime across selected areas in Nigeria.

DEER Nigeria, an indigenous firm committed to advancing energy transparency and sustainable power solutions across Nigeria, announced this on its official LinkedIn page on Monday, October 27.

The newly launched Power Tracking Intelligence (PTI) project will monitor electricity supply patterns for homes and businesses in key coverage areas through this partnership. This will mark a significant step toward energy transparency and data-driven decision-making.

What Electra Delivers

Milsat’s Electra technology provides DEER Nigeria with three core capabilities:

  • Real-time power supply and outage data, allowing immediate electricity status monitoring in selected areas.
  • Historic energy datasets reveal trends and patterns over time and offer valuable insights into reliability.
  • API access enables the direct integration of energy data into the DEER Portal dashboard, making information readily accessible to users.

With this technology, DEER users can now view their power performance history, understand how much uptime they experience, and make better-informed energy investment decisions. Businesses can plan more effectively for power backup or solar investments based on actual data rather than assumptions.

The tool also allows the company to provide prospective residents and investors with reliable insights before they commit to an area. Decision-makers can budget with real data, eliminating guesswork from the planning process.

In addition, DEER Nigeria can now provide five-year electricity trend data powered by Milsat Electra, enabling smarter planning and more confident investment decisions. This partnership represents a significant advancement in DEER Nigeria’s energy transparency and sustainability vision.

By continuously tracking energy uptime and downtime, which is directly fed into the DEER Portal, users can monitor their community’s energy performance and make decisions grounded in verified information.

Together, DEER Nigeria and Milsat Technologies are establishing data-driven energy transparency for communities across Nigeria. The long-term goal is to extend comprehensive coverage to every home and business.
