Israeli company Ecoppia Scientific Ltd has announced a deal to supply its water-free solar panel cleaning robots for the 1,650 GW Benban solar complex in Egypt. The complex which operates under arid-desert conditions has to be cleaned to ensure optimal energy production efficiency. for the Benban solar complex, Ecoppia will provide its light-weighted Ecoppia T4 solution, designed to fit single-axis trackers.

The Ecoppia water-free robots can clean dirt and debris off solar panels without human interference. They are remotely operated via a cloud-based control system. According to Ecoppia, it has secured contract orders for over 16 GW of projects in total.
