- EDF commissions 200MW wind farm in Jiangsu province, China
- The group now operates 500MW of offshore wind capacity in China.
EDF renewables have announced the commissioning of the 200MW Dongtai V offshore wind farm off the coast of China’s Jiangsu province.
The EDF Group and China Energy Investment Corp (CEI) developed the offshore wind project. This is the second offshore wind park that the two companies have worked on together following the 300MW Dongtai IV, commissioned in the final quarter of 2019. The company (EDF) has a 37.5 per cent interest in Dongtai IV and V.
The group now operates 500MW of offshore wind capacity in China. The two wind farms with a total of 125 turbines are expected to produce enough clean electricity to meet the annual demand of 2 million local inhabitants.
Dongtai IV and V are the results of the first Sino-French joint venture focused on the development and operation of offshore wind energy projects in China.
