EDPR Adds 120MW Solar PPA in Brazil

  • EDPR has secured a PPA for a solar project in Brazil.

Portuguese renewable energy company EDP Renewables has acquired a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 120MW bit of the 254MW Novo Oriente solar photovoltaic (PV) project in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo.

The firm (EDPR) signed the contract with the Brazilian unit EDP Renovaveis Brasil SA today without revealing the name of the off-taker.

The Novo Oriente plant is expected to start generating power in 2024. The project will be a 50/50 investment between EDPR and EDP Energias, which oversees Brazilian operations for the Portuguese utility giant.
