- EEC signs an agreement for green hydrogen production in Niger.
- The deal will also see the German company employ carbon capture for oil and gas operations.
German company Emerging Energy Corporation (EEC) is set to work with the government of the Republic of Niger to explore and develop a commercial green hydrogen project. Under the recently signed agreement, EEC will also utilise carbon capture technologies to decarbonise the country’s hydrocarbon sector.
The green hydrogen will be produced via electrolysis powered by renewable energy sources. EEC and the government plan to make Niger a hub for green hydrogen production.
