The ILI Group has sold the 50MW Fordtown battery storage project in Kintore, Aberdeenshire to Eelpower for an undisclosed fee. With this transaction, the ILI Group’s funded battery portfolio reaches 200MW with a further 800MW set to enter the market over the next year.
ILI Group’s CEO, Mark Wilson said: “We are delighted to conclude this deal with Eelpower and we would like to thank Mark Simon and his team, and our own solicitors at TLT Damien Bechelli and Joanna Hamilton for getting this challenging project over the line. “This is our second battery storage deal to conclude this month, taking the total of funded projects to 200MW. We have another 150MW that will be ready for tender this year.
Eelpower chief executive Mark Simon said: “The 50MW Fordtown project represents another milestone in Eelpower’s joint venture partnership with the SUSI Partners’ Energy Storage Fund. “We have enjoyed working with Mark Wilson and the excellent ILI team, and look forward to doing more landmark deals with them in future.”
