Egypt and Italian energy giant Eni have met on plans to accelerate gas production in Egypt. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Eni, Claudio Descalzi, stated that Eni plans to fast track its projects in Egypt to achieve developmental goals in the country.
Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tariq El Mulla, met with Descalzi on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Conference and Exhibition (ADIPEC 2021) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). At the meeting, both parties reviewed Eni projects in Egypt and spoke on operationalising the Damietta gas liquefaction plant and the resumption of export activities.
El Mulla stressed the need to boost Egypt’s cooperation with Eni in joint initiatives and projects in line with the global push for net-zero emissions.
