- Egypt seeks collaboration with Libya on power sector projects
- To launch interconnection projects between both countries
Egypt is set to launch more interconnection projects between Egypt and Libya. The country’s Electricity Minister, Mohammed El Shaker, said that the power linkage projects between both countries are part of the administration’s strategic goal.
Egypt plans to carry out power projects in Libya to contribute to the reconstruction of the country. El Shaker stated that Egypt has successfully transmitted power to Libya through existing power projects over the past two years. He added that Egypt is working on several interconnection projects with neighbouring Jordan, Sudan, and Saudi Arabia. He also announced the planned intercontinental connection with Europe through underwater cables.
