- Egypt to support Burundi’s Electricity sector
- To assist in designing electricity grids
The Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable energy has reiterated its commitment to working with its Burundian counterpart on fostering bilateral relations in the electricity sector. The Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mohammed El Shaker, made this known during a meeting with the Burundi Minister of Water, Energy and Minerals, Ibrahim Uwizeye.
The two Ministers discussed Egypt’s achievement in the electricity and renewable energy sector. Egypt also stated its commitment to help Burundi design electricity grids, improve the performance of existing grids, hold training courses for those working in the field, and implement projects through the Egyptian companies working in the field.
Burundi’s Minister, Uwizeye, thanked Egypt for organizing a recent workshop on the repair and installations of power transformers. He added that the country would take advantage of the opportunity to work with Egypt on growing and improving its electricity sector.
