JICA announces 80% completion on two power projects
- Al-Atf and Sidi Krir power plants beneficiaries of JICA financing
- Completion slated for November 2021
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has announced an 80% progress on the upgrade of the Al-Atf and Sidi Krir Power Plants and the completion of the Long-Term Service and Supply Agreement for three power stations executed by Mitsubishi Power. The deadline for the completion of the Al-Atf and Sidi Krir projects is November 2021.
The projects are financed under the $400 million funding facility provided for by JICA. The funding will focus on the rehabilitation of power plants to improve generation efficiency in the country. Omura Yoshifumi, JICA Chief Representative, has stated that the Al-Atf and Sidi Krir plants will increase generation efficiency by at least 17.5%.
