The National Grid has been fully restored
- This follows the collapse of the Grid on Sunday, 29th November
- Engr. Abdulaziz confirmed the news
The Acting Managing Director, Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Engr. Sule Abdulaziz has confirmed the total restoration of the National Grid. Recall the National Grid collapsed on Sunday, 29th November. Restoration efforts began immediately with some parts of the country still in darkness.
Engr. Abdulaziz made this known at a media chat. He said, “The company immediately went into action and stabilised the system in Abuja, before other parts of the country. There is nothing strange but it is normal for a system to collapse and that can happen in any country in the world”. He assured of the TCN’s commitment to safeguarding the National Grid. He also made it known that, under his tenure, he will do everything possible to maintain Grid Stability.
It is abnormal for a power system to collapse, though it does happen in other part of the world, but not as a common occurence as the Nigeria case. It is nothing to be proud of
I do agree with you. Measures must be put in place to prevent further collapses.
