Elon Musk has emerged the world’s second-richest person, knocking off Bill Gates off the position as his wealth rose rapidly a couple of days back.
Elon is now behind Jeff Bezos who is the richest man in the world with $182 billion (£136 billion). He outran the Microsoft co-founder with a bumper of $7.2 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Interestingly, Elon is one of the activists of eco-sustainability and clean energy goals. He is the Chief Executive Officer of the electric car manufacturer, Telsa. He is also the co-founder of the electronic payment platform PayPal and formed SpaceX maker of launch vehicles and spacecraft.
In addition to his businesses, Elon is the chairman of the Musk Foundation – an organisation that supports research into renewable energy, pediatrics, and humans in space. He has invested handsomely into fixing power-grid problems with a solar power utility called SolarCity which is one of America’s largest installers of home solar panels.
Musk’s Influence has over the years changed the way we use the internet. He has devised innovative solutions to environmental and sustainability challenges and has aided funding projects that tap the brightest minds for the advancement of society.
