Elsewedy Electric to begin operations in February
- LASG offers full support
Egyptian company Elsewedy Electric, specialised in the manufacturing of electrical components is set to commence business operations in Nigeria. The company will commence business operations by the end of February. The company will focus on the production of prepaid meters.
While receiving the Chief Commercial Officer of the company, the Deputy Governor of Lagos state, Mr Kadri Hamzat gave the assurance of the Lagos State Government (LASG) to provide support for the operations of the company. Mr Hamzat also mentioned the LASG commitment to creating a business-friendly environment for investors in the state.
The Chief Commercial Officer and Vice President of the firm, Mr Mohammed Atef, stated that the company will become fully operational at the end of February and also assured the LASG of the creation of jobs for Nigerians. He also stated that the company will increase the number of Nigerians in its employ from 150 to 350.
Elsewedy Electric is an established company with smart metering projects across Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
