The African Guarantee Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises (AGF) is providing finance to Empower New Energy for its renewable energy expansion plan in Africa. The guarantee, the exact value of which was not disclosed, is funded by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD).
Empower New Energy plans to carry out the installation of clean power generation systems for commercial and industrial (C&I) customers in Africa. In 2020, the company committed to equipping the Premium Poultry Farm in Abuja, Nigeria, with a solar photovoltaic system. The 700kWp plant will be built by Rensource Energy, a company based in Lagos, Nigeria.
