Enel Green Power North America, a subsidiary of Italy Enel SpA, has started the construction of a 300MW wind park in Oklahoma, USA. The plant, dubbed Seven Cowboy, is expected to be fully operational by 2022. The Washita and Kiowa counties located wind plant makes the 13th wind farm owned by Enel and located in Oklahoma. Enel’s total investment in Oklahoma is now above USD 3 billion.
The wind farm will have 107 turbines that can deliver over 1.3TWh of electricity every year. The expected generation capacity can meet the energy demands of more than 120,000 households in the United States per year. Enel has also revealed its plans of opening a new training facility for wind turbine technicians in the same state.
