- The plant is expected to generate about 546GWh annually.
French utility Engie has commissioned a 200MW/290MWp solar park within the Raghanesda complex in the Indian state of Gujarat. The plant is expected to generate up to 546GWh of electricity every year. It will supply the power generated to state government-owned utility Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA). Engie completed the plant’s construction process on time despite the disruption caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Engie developed the project via a special purpose vehicle Electro Solaire Private Limited. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and France’s Societe Generale provided debt financing for the project while Chinese companies JinkoSolar and Longi Green supplied the solar modules for the project. Sterling & Wilson will maintain the plant over the next five years.
This new plant raises Engie’s Indian solar portfolio to 1.1GWp.
