Engie, a French energy company has stated that the company plans to invest up to 4 billion euros ($4.3 billion) in Belgium by 2030. The company prioritizes renewable power generation, mainly wind power.
The firm, which also runs Belgium’s nuclear plants and has close to 3 million customers in the country, said it targets installing wind power capacities of 2 gigawatts, split evenly between onshore and offshore projects.
The company also said it was investing in its new Flemalle gas power plant—planned to start service next year—and expanding its power storage infrastructure to allow for more flexibility.
