Entergy, Energy Transfer Sign 20-Year Deal to Supply Gas to US

  • Entergy and Energy Transfer signed a 20-year deal to supply natural gas to North Louisiana starting in February 2028.
  • The pipeline will deliver 250,000 MMBtu/day, powering Entergy’s new plants and projects, such as Meta’s data centre in Richland Parish.

A unit of Entergy Corp has signed a 20-year agreement with pipeline operator Energy Transfer to deliver natural gas to North Louisiana.

The pipeline will supply gas to Entergy’s upcoming power plants and support major industrial projects, including Meta’s (META.O) data centre in Richland Parish.

Under the deal, Energy Transfer will transport 250,000 million British thermal units (MMBtu) of gas per day, starting in February 2028 and continuing through January 2048.

The agreement also gives Entergy the option to expand its delivery capacity to meet the region’s rising power demand.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration projects record growth in power consumption this year and in 2026, driven mainly by the soaring energy requirements of data centres.
