Paris-based Eranove secures a two-year contract to manage Société béninoise d’énergie électrique (SBEE) in Benin. The move follows the conclusion of Manitoba Hydro International’s service. Eranove commits to improving electricity distribution for Benin’s 13 million inhabitants, emphasising collaboration with African expertise. Marc Albérola, Eranove’s Managing Director, highlights the importance of empowering SBEE’s workforce.
The firm plans to establish a resident team of international experts to address technical, commercial, financial, and logistical challenges. This public-private partnership aligns with Benin’s goal to achieve 41 per cent electricity access by 2021, focusing on renewable energy projects, including a 25 MWp solar power plant. Eranove aims to stabilise the stabilising key, positioning Benin as a key player in the West African Power Pool (WAPP).
