EVE Energy Launches 628 Ah Battery, Revolutionises Storage with 60 GWh Factory

  • EVE Energy mass-produces the 628 Ah battery, a significant breakthrough in energy storage technology.
  • The company opens its 60 GWh “Mr Big” factory in Jingmen, surpassing competitors with a 15 GWh annual capacity.
  • EVE Energy integrates advanced automation, low-carbon processes, and intelligent safety technology to ensure high-quality, efficient production.

EVE Energy marks a significant milestone in energy storage by mass-producing its 628 Ah battery, a leap forward in battery technology. The company ties this achievement to the launch of its 60 GWh “Mr. Big” factory in Jingmen, Hubei.

On December 10, EVE Energy opened the world’s largest energy storage factory, with a yearly production capacity of 15 GWh. This factory outpaces competitors in Japan and South Korea, whose capacities peak at 3-4 GWh. EVE Energy now sets new standards for large-capacity battery production, further strengthening its position in the global market.

By creating the 628 Ah battery, EVE Energy shifts the industry’s focus away from the standard 280 Ah cells. In just two years, the company developed a more powerful cell that reduces system costs, improves energy density, and simplifies assembly, reshaping the sector’s future.

To solve thermal management issues in large-capacity batteries, EVE Energy teamed up with Wuhan University. Together, they developed an electrochemical model that lowers internal resistance and minimises overheating risks, improving battery efficiency.

The company integrates cutting-edge automation and low-carbon technology in its “Mr. Big” factory. Its production line, capable of making 1.5 cells per second, sets a new pace for efficiency. The factory churns out 40 containers of 5 MWh each day, producing 1 GWh every five days. This output provides enough electricity to power 300,000 homes annually.

EVE Energy strengthens its commitment to quality and safety by adopting a Parts-per-Billion (PPB)–level quality management system. Every battery undergoes rigorous testing, ensuring high reliability. The company also offers full product traceability through its “battery passport,” tracking each cell from production to use.

EVE Energy further enhances battery safety with its intelligent battery technology. This system monitors crucial factors like temperature and gas formation, detecting real-time issues. By identifying potential problems early, the technology ensures safer and more reliable battery performance.

With the mass production of the 628 Ah battery and the launch of its 60 GWh factory, EVE Energy reaffirms its role as a leader in the energy storage market. The company meets the growing demand for more significant, safer, and more sustainable battery solutions, helping drive the energy transition.

The new factory expands production capabilities and signals a shift in the global energy landscape. As the world embraces renewable energy and sustainability, EVE Energy positions itself at the forefront of these changes.

EVE Energy’s rapid progress over the past two years showcases its leadership in battery innovation. With its groundbreaking factory and high-capacity battery, the company stands ready to meet the global demand for energy-efficient solutions and shape the future of energy storage.
