Federal Government Delegation Visits MOMAS

  • Adhoc Committee on Tariff visited MOMAS
  • The Deputy Minister of Labour was present at the event

The Federal Government Adhoc Committee on Electricity Tariff embarked on a tour of the facility of the MOMAS Electricity Meters Manufacturing Company (MEMMCOL). The delegation included the Deputy Minister of Labour, Festus Keyamo, members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Distribution Companies and other stakeholders.

At the facility, the deputy Minister spoke of the government’s efforts in fast-tracking the manufacture of meters to ensure the smooth implementation of a Cost-Reflective Tariff. He said, “We are focusing on addressing all the issues surrounding the implementation of cost-reflective tariffs in the power sector”.

The Chairman of the facility, Engr. Kola Balogun thanked the delegation for the visit and assured of the commitment of MOMAS in bridging the nations metering gap. He further explained the efforts of the company in improving production capacity in line with its objectives.

Speaking on the implementation of the National Mass Metering Program (NMMP), he congratulated the Federal Government and urged stakeholders to support the efforts of the government in the sector.
