Nigerian pay-as-you-go (PAYGo) solar services provider, Fenix International, has changed its name to ENGIE Energy Access Nigeria. The change is due to the integration of Fenix International with ENGIE Mobisol, another solar home systems provider.
ENGIE Energy Access’ Managing Director, Bankole Cardoso, noted that the company is set to bridge the electricity access deficit in the country. “As Fenix International, we only offered solar home systems, and with ENGIE Energy Access, we are now able to offer both solar home systems and mini-grid solutions to our customers,” he added.
ENGIE says its products have provided energy access to over 200,000 Nigerians across eleven states of the federation. Bankole notes that critical partnerships with organizations like Paga, MTN, Enugu State Government, DSTv, Nigeria Rural Electrification Agency success to Bankole believe that most people without access to electricity live in Africa ENGIE Energy Access will play a crucial role in increasing energy access in Nigeria.
