- The FEC approved the sum of ₦4.7 billion for the power sector
- The funds will cater to the sector infrastructure
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) yesterday approved the sum of ₦44.5 billion. The approved funds are to be used for contracts under the Ministry of Works and Housing, and the Ministry of Power.
The Minister of Power, Mamman Sale said the FEC approved a total of ₦4.7 billion for two contracts under the Ministry of Power. He stated that the amount will be used for infrastructure works at the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) and for Consultancy service in the ongoing construction of the Zungeru Power Project.
The cost for the NAPTIN infrastructure and Zungeru Project are ₦88.046 and ₦3.4 billion respectively.
