FGN Power Company, under the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI), has installed several mobile substations and power transformers across nine states in collaboration with Siemens Energy.
Information gathered by the Electricity Hub shows that since the beginning of 2024, the FGN Power Company (FGNPC) has facilitated the installation of mobile substations and power transformers across several states.
May 11, 2024 – Energizing at 15:29 hrs on May 11, 2024, marks a milestone in improving electricity access for Jebba and its surroundings. With an additional 50.4MW capacity, PPI’s Mobile Substation promises a notable boost in transmission wheeling capacity. The installation of the new 63MVA, 132/33kV Mobile Substation at Jebba Transmission Substation in Kwara State.
May 2, 2024 – The FGN Power Company (FGNPC) announced the inauguration of two crucial power projects: the 63MVA, 132/33kV Mobile Substation in Ajah, Lagos State.
April 19, 2024 – The FGN Power Company, under the Presidential Power Initiative ( PPI), announced that it has successfully installed, energized, and on Soak a 60MVA, 132/33kV Power Transformer at 14.59 hrs in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state. The Power Transformer will increase the transmission wheeling capacity of the Birnin Kebbi Substation to boost electricity access to Birnin Kebbi and its environs.
March 26, 2024 – The FGN Power Company announced the ongoing installation of the 63MVA, 132/33kV Mobile Substation at Kwanar Dangora, Kano State, to increase transmission capacity by 50MW. This means more power for Kano and Kaduna DisCos to serve areas like Karaye, Falgore, Ikara, Faki, and Tudun Wada.
February 27, 2024 – The Honourable Minister of Power Commissions Five State Projects Under Presidential Power Initiative (PPI). These states include Okene in Kogi State, Amukpe in Delta State, Potiskum in Yobe State, Apo in Abuja, and Ihovbor in Edo State. Under phase 1 of the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI), these commissioned projects are set to amplify the transmission wheeling capacity by 272 megawatts. The team energized 60MVA and 132/33kV Power Transformers in these states.
