- Fundeen calls for participation in a 400MW solar PV project in Murcia.
- The initiative was funded via a EUR 5,000 contribution from Fundeen.
- RP Global guarantees the loans.
Fundeen, a Spanish crowdfunding platform, said on Monday that the people of Spain could participate in a 400-MW solar PV project in Murcia being developed by Austrian renewables producer RP Global.
Fundeen and RP Global are looking to fund EUR 450,000 (USD 481.760) to enable the Carril Solar plant in Spain’s southeast region to cover some planning and construction expenditures. Residents living near the construction site were the first to benefit. However, people from throughout Spain can now participate in the fundraising effort, according to Fundeen.
The deadline for applying is May 30. According to Fundeen’s website, the project raised close to EUR 139,000.
The initiative was funded via a EUR 5,000 contribution from Fundeen.
Citizens’ investments will be classified as a loan, with an annual return of 5% to 6% and interest accruing every six months from payment.
The firm further noted that the loans are guaranteed by RP Global. However, because the Carril Solar project is still in the early stages of development, there’s a chance the promoter won’t be able to get all of the necessary permissions and will have to repay the loan early.
