- The firm has developed a new product to manage power quality.
FlexGen, a US battery energy storage system integrator, has floated a new product for distributed and behind-the-meter applications. The product, FlexPod, is a suite of containerised, modular and scalable storage solutions designed to meet a broad range of product requirements.
Each Flexpod comprises batteries, power conversion electronics, thermal management and fire suppression and is enabled with the company’s energy management software (EMS), HybridOS.
Kelcy Pegler, FlexGen CEO, noted at the launch, “Commercial and Industrial (C&I) businesses need scaleable, flexible energy solutions now more than ever. This sector is bearing the brunt of energy inflation and the high costs of fossil fuels right now. With FlexPod, we are enabling all energy consumers to realise the benefits of advanced energy storage.”
The product has an advanced capability to manage power quality, ‘out of the box’ integration with solar, advanced microgrid functionality and integration with EV charging infrastructure, the company noted. It already has an EV charging solution which combines its EMS platform with battery storage, launched in February this year.
