France Apportions 50 MWp of Solar in Non-Interconnected Areas

According to official data released, France has awarded about 50 MWp of capacity in a tender for solar projects in non-interconnected zones (ZNIs), with or without a battery storage component.

The sixth phase of the tender program run by the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) resulted in 89 winners being declared by the Ministry of Ecological Transition. The chosen projects will increase Corsica’s and the overseas territories’ total capacity for power generation by 49.8 MWp.

The winners include Albioma SA of France. Therefore, Watt, Green Yellow, and Helexia Solar Guyane, a French operator Voltalia SA division. The website ministry has a complete list of the projects granted.

The fifth call of the ZNIs tender programme awarded 33 proposals with a combined capacity of 29 MWp. The allocated capacity was for projects located in French Guiana and Mayotte.
