To enter Europe’s largest solar market, Spain-based Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) plans to build 2 GW of photovoltaic (PV) solar projects, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and renewable installations in Germany over the next four years.
The business, owned by the Saudi Arabian family-run diversified corporation Abdul Latif Jameel, offers commercial and industrial clients renewable energy solutions, including the development and management of solar farms, rooftop installations, and sizable battery storage systems.
FRV anticipates considerable demand for its products in Germany, particularly from organizations and businesses in the agriculture industry. It intends to deploy 2 GW of its solutions to 790,000 houses overall, which would reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 948,000 tons annually.
To support the expansion in the new market, the business opened in December an office in Munich which will serve as a headquarters for its local operations. More regional offices will be opened in future.
