- FTC Solar signed a deal with Dunlieh Energy to supply over 1GW of solar trackers, starting with a 500MW project in Nebraska’s Banner County.
- The Situla Energy Project will create 225 jobs and generate $1.4 million in annual local taxes, boosting education and community infrastructure.
- The partnership strengthens Nebraska’s growing solar energy sector, with tracker installations set to begin in 2025.
FTC Solar signed an agreement with Dunlieh Energy to supply over one gigawatt (GW) of solar trackers, starting with a 500-megawatt (MW) project in Banner County, Nebraska, near the Wyoming border. The deal promises economic benefits for the region, including jobs and increased local tax revenue.
FTC Solar will deliver advanced solar tracking technology for Dunlieh Energy’s large-scale projects. The Situla Energy Project’s first project combines 500 MW of solar power with energy storage. The project aims to provide reliable renewable energy while driving economic growth in the area.
The Situla project will create about 225 construction jobs and generate $1.4 million in local taxes yearly. Local authorities will allocate most of these funds to educational and community infrastructure. FTC Solar plans to start installations in 2025, supplying single- and dual-axis (1P and 2P) trackers known for their efficiency and fast installation times.
Dunlieh Energy’s CEO, Thaer Flieh, praised FTC’s tracker technology, highlighting its operational simplicity and suitability for large-scale projects. FTC Solar’s President and CEO, Yann Brandt, emphasised the importance of this partnership, noting how their tracker solutions will maximise each project’s efficiency and durability.
This deal follows recent agreements with FTC Solar, Strata Clean Energy, and Sandhills Energy. By securing these partnerships, FTC Solar continues expanding its footprint in the North American solar market, responding to the growing demand for reliable energy solutions. The Situla project strengthens Nebraska’s position as an emerging player in solar energy development.
Nebraska, previously slow to adopt solar energy, sees the Situla project as a potential turning point. As interest in renewable energy rises, the state aims to accelerate solar installations, and this large-scale effort could lead to more clean energy projects across the region.
FTC Solar’s tracker technology will help ensure these projects succeed. The trackers optimise energy production by adjusting the angle of solar panels to follow the sun’s movement throughout the day. This feature significantly boosts the efficiency of solar arrays, especially for large projects like Situla.
The Situla project will bring tangible economic benefits to Banner County. Beyond creating jobs and tax revenue, it will reduce the region’s reliance on fossil fuels by providing a clean energy source. Nebraska’s energy mix will grow more sustainable as solar power becomes a more significant grid component.
With the first delivery of solar trackers expected by late 2025, FTC Solar and Dunlieh Energy are set to contribute to the rapid development of solar power across the United States. Their partnership demonstrates a solid commitment to meeting the rising demand for large-scale renewable energy solutions. The Situla Energy Project is a critical milestone in this effort, offering economic growth and environmental benefits to Banner County and beyond.
