The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) CEO, Yankuba Dibba, has appeared before the National Assembly’s Select Committee on Monitoring and Implementation of government projects to brief the house on the progress towards the OIC Summit in 2022.
The country received $93 million in funding towards preparations for the Summit. Honorable Sulayman Saho, Chairman of the Committee while speaking before the Committee said, “We want a general update on the OIC project”.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) OIC Yankuba Dibba, in his appearance before the Committee, said, “our primary role is to mobilize necessary resources leading to the success summit of OIC project”. “In the area of electricity and water projects, the works are in progress and we hope by end of April and May, tenders will be rolled out and we hope to assist Nawec in changing their transmitters which will help to improve their T and D” Dibba added.
The funding facility will also facilitate the construction of highways to ease traffic congestion during the event.
