- European Energy has ordered 34 wind turbines from GE.
- The turbines are set to be deployed at three wind parks in Lithuania.
- hen completed, the parks will have a total capacity of 187MW
Danish developer European Energy has ordered 34 of GE Renewable Energy’s Cypress platform turbines for 187MW of wind farms it is set to construct in Lithuania. The turbines, which will be operated in 5.5MW mode, will comprise 158m rotor diameter machines erected on 151m towers.
European Energy is set to deploy the turbines at three sites in the northern part of Lithuania. GE Renewable Energy intends to complete the installation of the turbines in 2022. The order includes a 25year full-service contract.
The completion of the three sites will increase European Energy’s total wind capacity to 308MW from six parks. Lithuania has set its sights on generating 100 per cent of its energy from renewable sources by 2050.
