GE Renewable Energy yesterday said it had been awarded a contract to set up 148.5 MW wind energy capacity in India. Continuum Green Energy India selected the developer to set up the turbines at the Bhuj wind farm in Gujarat.
GE Renewable Energy will supply, install and commission 55 sets of its 2.7-132 onshore wind turbines for the 148.5MW Morjar, Bhuj wind farm in Gujarat, India, a GE Renewable Energy statement said.
Continuum Green Energy was awarded the tender to develop the project during the tranche-VI auction of wind projects by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The wind farm is expected to generate clean energy for 125,000 households in India.
