- Daimler Truck Holding AG will power production sites in Germany entirely by renewable energy.
- The supply volume is equivalent to the energy needs of more than 215,000 households.
Germany’s Daimler Truck Holding AG has said that renewable energy will power all of its production sites in Germany. This follows the signing of several power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Norwegian power company Statkraft AS.
Also, the source of the contracted power will be from three solar parks in Bavaria and 14 wind farms that have run out of subsidies. Other sources include a new wind farm in Lower Saxony. The supply volume is equivalent to the energy needs of more than 215,000 households, with an average annual consumption of 3,500 kWh.
According to a statement released, long-term contracts have different starting dates. Daimler Truck’s energy supplier, Enovos, will oversee energy management. These include physical delivery, balancing group management, billing, grid usage, consumption forecasting and hedging.
