German Goldbeck Solar has unveiled its first two solar farms in Chile into smaller-scale facilities totalling about 24 MWp. Goldbeck Solar said both plants are in Bio Bio province, central Chile. One of the Paillihue solar farms with 12.09 MWp is equipped with 22,176 bifacial panels and two central inverters, generating 23.3 GWh of electricity annually. The electricity generated is enough to power around 10,000 households.

The second Laja solar farm with 11.67 MWp is made up of 21,616 bifacial panels, which will be capable of generating about 21.2 GWh annually. Earlier this year, the company closed a loan deal with French fund Rgreen Invest to support these projects and another pair in Canada. It was then announced that the two Bio Bio solar farms would be operated under the Chilean PMGD scheme for distributed generation, enabling them to benefit from a stabilised price regime.
