German Technology Firm MAN to Supply 225MW in West Africa

The German technological giant, MAN is set to supply 225MW of power to four power generation plants in West Africa. The beneficiary countries include Gambia, Mali, Senegal, and Guinea.

The MAN will supply 8 × MAN 14V51/60 engines to a power plant in Mali contributing a total of 100MW to the Malian national grid. It is will also supply 6 × MAN 9L51/60 engines in Senegal to the Les Ciments du Sahel cement factory with a total of 54MW. In Brikama, Gambia MAN Energy Solutions has constructed a power plant consisting of 2 × MAN 9L51/60 engines to supply 18MW to the national grid and installed 6 × MAN 18V32/40 engines in Conakry, Guinea which will provide 53 MW of electricity in the country.

“With the four power-plant solutions, we are strengthening our local presence in West Africa and making a valuable contribution to economic and wealth growth in these countries” said Ghassan Saab, Head of Power, MEA Region at MAN Energy Solutions.
