German agency Bundesnetzagentur has reported that about 536 MW of new solar PV systems were added in January. This figure represents an increase from the total in December, where 525 MW was added. However, the figure was 7.4 per cent lower than the figures registered in the same month last year.
About 493.3 MW of the capacity added was from solar PV systems equal to or lower than 750 kW in capacity. 406MW of this were installed under Germany’s Feed-In-Tariff (FIT) scheme, and 87.3 MW were through tenders without the feed-in premium payments. The Bundesnetzagentur reported that 43 MW of projects connected to the grid were through feed-in premium payments tenders. These latest figures bring the cumulative capacity of all subsidized PV systems in Germany to 54.1 GW.

From this month, tariffs for PV systems will fall 1.4%. The FIT for rooftop systems of up to 10 kW capacity will now fall below €0.08/kWh to €0.0792/kWh. The tariff for installations with capacities of between 10 and 40 kW will be €0.077/kWh. 40-100 kW systems will now receive €0.0604/kWh. For projects with 40-750 kW capacity, the tariff will become be €0.0544/kW, and for those reaching 100 kW, there will be a fixed FIT of €0.04/kWh.
