A total of 665MW of solar projects were awarded in a German tender that closed on the 1st of June. The first tender was for ground-mounted solar farms larger than 750kW. Although the tendered volume was 510MW, the bids received was treated than 1,100MW, double the volume tendered. Germany’s Federal Network Agency, the Bundesnetzagentur, announced 95 successful bids with a cumulative capacity of 513 MW.
Selected bidders will sell power at between €0.0469 ($0.055) and €0.0509 per kWh. Almost half (233MW) of the awarded capacity will be deployed in the state of Bavaria. The Bundesnetzagentur also held the first tender for solar systems installed on building or noise barriers, where 152MW was awarded. Here the tariff will range from €0.0535 per kWh to €0.0789 per kWh.
Germany is set to offer the next normal tender round for solar parks by November 1, 2021, with a tender for solar systems on buildings and barriers also taking place by the 1st of December.
