- Germany has launched a renewable energy tender for solar and biomass
Germany has begun a call for tenders to allocate 1.1GW of solar and 274.86MW of biomass capacity. According to the Federal Network Agency, the auctions will be open till the 1st of March, 2022.
The solar tender is open to bids for ground-mounted plants of over 751kW, and the offered price must not exceed EUR 0.0557 (USD 0.062) per kWh. The winning proposals will secure contracts under the “pay-as-bid” model. The Federal Network Agency will select projects for plants on less-favoured arable and grassland areas in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland and Saxony with capacities in the separate states ranging from 35MW to nearly230 MW.
Germany will award 3.6GW of solar projects of over 751kW as part of three tenders through 2022. The biomass tender is capped at EUR 0.1624 per kWh for new installations and EUR 0.1822 for existing plants. The total biomass capacity that will be allocated this year is 600MW.
