Germany’s Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) will maintain the volume of its ongoing onshore wind tender, aiming to support the development of 3,446 MW of capacity after recent rounds saw a sharp increase in demand.

The auction was launched in December, with a submission deadline on February 1, 2026. Since the date falls on Sunday, bids are accepted until February 2.

The tender round is open to projects with permits granted and registered by January 5, 2026. Additional bids can be submitted for facilities that have already received an award if the capacity is or will be increased by over 15 per cent.

The highest bid allowed in the competition is EUR 0.0725 per kW/h. This compares with an average volume-weighted award price of EUR 0.0606 per kWh in the previous round, which supported 415 projects totalling 3,456 MW.

The new round is the first for 2026. Overall, the Federal Network Agency plans to back a total of 10,000 MW in the year, distributed across four bidding rounds.
