Ghana experiences increasing power cuts
- Ghana Gas has denied being the cause
- Says outages due to maintenance works
The Head of Corporate Communications, Ghana Gas Ernest Owusu Bempah, has dismissed reports that allege, the rising incidents of power cuts ‘Dumsor’ is a result of technical difficulties affecting the company.
Bempah said, media reports claiming that faulty compressors at the Takoradi Regulatory and Metering Station (TRMS) are responsible for generation deficits and power outages in the country are false. Mr. Bempah clarified that Ghana Gas has nothing to do with these outages. He added that gas supply to the Volta River Authority in the Aboadze Power Enclave has not been affected.
According to Bempah, the outages are as a result of ongoing maintenance works by the Grid Company of Ghana (GRIDCo).
