- ECG issues a 22-day load shedding schedule
- To cut supply in 77 communities
- The outages will enable the rehabilitation of transmission lines
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has issued a 22-day load shedding schedule for communities in parts of the capital, Accra. 77 communities in the Accra area will be affected by the planned outages. The outages are to last for a period of six hours daily for each group of communities.
In a statement released by the ECG, the outages will enable the Grid Company of Ghana (GRIDCo) to carry out works on the Volta-Achimota transmission lines and also the construction of transmission towers at Volta East, Achimota and Accra East transmission substations. The outages are expected to last from Monday 28th June to Monday 19th July 2021.
ECG pleaded with the consumers for patience during the outage period.
