- UKF asks ECG to stop operations
- Demands resolution of billing issues
- Asks ECG to nullify controversial bills
The United Krobo Foundation (UKF) has asked the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to stop all its operations in Krobo Districts. In a press conference at Agomanya, the group’s Media Relations Officer, Nathan Boryor, said, ”The machinery to clean the overbilling, estimated bills and the wrong accumulated bills in the Krobo Districts were not done. This was a calculated sabotage”.
The UKF have accused the ECG of issuing controversial electricity bills to customers in the Krobo District. The UKF stated that the issue has been ongoing for at least three years with no hope in sight for a resolution. The UKF also alleges the Somanya Manager of the ECG of collaborating with the Police to disconnect residents who refused to pay the controversial bills.
